Ali, Mayweather, Tyson: The top 10 greatest boxers of all time ranked

February 8th, 2023

Who is the greatest boxer of all time?

It’s a question that boxing fans have been debating for decades.

What makes a great boxer? Is it speed? Power? Technique? Or all of the above?

Well, WatchMojo have ranked the top 10 best boxers of all time – and it’s bound to generate plenty of controversy as well.

WatchMojo is a Canadian video production company known for putting together top 10 lists ranking the ten most popular or successful things in various categories including music, TV, movies and video games.

The company’s five YouTube channels have over 30 million subscribers between them, with the lion’s share of those coming from its main account that primarily caters to a male audience.

And it’s fair to say that they may have outdone themselves with this one.

Of course, everyone is entitled to their opinion, as is always the case with such things.

After all, it’s just an opinion at the end of the day.

However, there are still some pretty questionable decisions that will no doubt leave fans scratching their heads in amazement.

Here, GiveMeSport.com runs down the top 10 from their rankings.

It is a controversial list including the likes of Joe Frazier and George Foreman.

Sugar Ray Robinson is ranked No.1 by the Canadian YouTube channel – who surprisingly left fan favourite Manny Pacquiao out of the top 10.

Honourable mentions also include Jack Dempsey, Roberto Duran, Marvin Hagler and Evander Holyfield.

Robinson, who died at the age of 67 in 1989, reigned as world champion five times, winning eight titles in a career spanning 25 years.

But their decision to rank Joe Louis above Muhammad Ali is arguably the most baffling.

While Mike Tyson‘s surprise inclusion will also no doubt raise a few eyebrows as well.

8. Joe Frazier

7. Rocky Marciano

6. Mike Tyson

5. Sugar Ray Leonard
