The Extratempestrial Model

2022

Synopsis

In The Extratempestrial Model, Dr. Michael P. Masters, a professor of biological anthropology, proposes a multidisciplinary theory that reimagines the "alien" phenomenon through the lens of evolutionary biology and physics. Rather than viewing unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP) as visitors from distant star systems, Masters argues that they are more likely our own human descendants traveling back from the future. He utilizes the concept of "anthropological kidnapping" to suggest that the reported physical characteristics of these beings—such as large heads, reduced jaw structures, and bipedalism—align perfectly with long-term trends in human evolution driven by increased encephalization and technological reliance.

The core of the "IDH" or Interdimensional/Infraterrestrial Hypothesis within the book rests on the scientific possibility of backward time travel as permitted by General Relativity. Masters posits that future humans would likely possess a sophisticated understanding of spacetime manipulation and would use it to visit their own past for sociological, historical, or biological research. By framing these encounters as "chrono-archaeology," the author provides a grounded, scientific framework that attempts to bridge the gap between traditional academia and the fringe study of ufology.

The text further explores the physical and cultural implications of this model, suggesting that the "Greys" frequently described in popular culture are essentially "highly evolved future humans" who have adapted to a more technologically integrated existence. Masters emphasizes that the vast distances of interstellar space make the extraterrestrial hypothesis statistically daunting, whereas the "extratempestrial" model offers a parsimonious explanation based on known biological trajectories and the theoretical flexibility of time. The book ultimately challenges readers to consider that we are not being observed by another species, but rather by a future version of ourselves.

Identified Flying Objects: A Multidisciplinary Scientific Approach to the UFO Phenomenon

Michael P. Masters' Identified Flying Objects presents a compelling, multidisciplinary argument for the "extratempestrial" model of unidentified flying objects. Rather than looking to distant galaxies for the origin of these craft, Masters, a professor of biological anthropology, suggests that UFOs ...
