Synopsis
Mattias Villeneuve is living, ahead of time, the life that influencers would like to have and are struggling to stage. But he has no appetite for fame and always stays in the background. Former editor-in-chief of Playboy and Maxim, he regularly participates in the Gumball 3000, usually with a female co-driver "for obvious practical reasons". He rediscovers the Cannonball, a race from New York to Los Angeles that took place four times in the Seventies before being adapted for Hollywood. Villeneuve will study the topic then complete this mythical course twice in a record time, and finds himself with two of the three fastest times ever achieved. But not the record, which he wants more than anything. Stranded in Europe during the Covid-19 pandemic which emptied the American highways, Mattias will imagine a crazy way to break the record, but paradoxically, he will have to come out of the shadows. This is the price to pay to realize his dream. He will end up in a documentary series on Netflix, produced by Red Bull Media House. And Masha, the love of his life, signs the soundtrack of this hit. Despite her fear of speed, Masha ends up doing rallies with Mattias, who follows her the rest of the time on her perpetual tour of angel rockstar.
