Living On Minimum Wage: On A Budget in An Expensive World

2026

Synopsis

My family and I live on $38,000 a year in Northern California. For those of you who don't live in California, let me tell you, it's as expensive as it gets. Mortgages are outrageous, and rents are unaffordable. Gas and grocery prices are through the roof. But here we are, a house almost paid off in an affluent area, vehicles, nice wardrobes, organic food, and cruises twice a year. We want for nothing. We live middle class on a blue-collar income. The husband is a cashier at Sinclair gas station, and I am a cashier at Target. We have two boys and a dog, and we are thriving. We live differently from the mainstream, and we are very happy people. I want to share it all with you. How I shop, stock our pantry, fill our closets, keep our old cars running, and grow produce in our backyard. I also do a lot of inner personal work and have "opted out" of the modern life that is killing so many people mentally, physically, and spiritually. I live a wholesome life filled with coffee and goals.
